OBJECTIVE OF CPU
COUNCIL OF POWER UTILITIES (CPU) established in 1983 offers an excellent platform to the Power Utilities and other associated with power supply industry for interaction. The important attribute of the Council is that the efforts to solve the problems of the power supply industry in collaboration with other players in power development business namely designers, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers, investors, policy makers and environmentalists.
OBJECTIVES
- Sharing the experiences through interaction.
- Discussions through conferences/seminars/workshops.
- Developing closer interactive relationship with other Indian and foreign organizations.
- Assessment of power supply problems through.
ACTIVITIES
- Experts Group interactive dialogues at higher working level on technical/management/financial engineering problems for remedial measures
- Conferences/seminars /workshops with Indian/ international experts at regular intervals
- Liaising with concerned Government/Administrative authorities for necessary assistance in implementing suggested remedial measures.
- Studies regarding development prospects of futuristic energy technologies like Bio Diesel, hydrogen Technologies to be undertaken.
- Investigation for development of new technologies for meeting rural energy requirement.
- Arranging regular stimulating talks by reputed persons, journalists, scientists academicians on concurrent important subjects on energy/power problems
- In view of the policy for more non Government sector participation in power development, efforts would be made for more involvement of private sector.
CPU Welcomes all Power Generating, Transmission, Distribution, Trading Utilities/organizations, Independent Power Producers, Manufacturers of Equipment/Auxiliaries relating to Power Supply, Power Developers, Financial institutions, organizations involved with fuel supply like gas, oil, coal etc. Organizations involved in transport of fuel, telecommunications, electronics, computer, information technology etc. to become its Members.
